We’re about 15 minutes away from kickoff for the Atlanta Falcons-New York Giants game. By now, you’re well aware that every other team in the NFC South won in improbable fashion on Sunday, putting even more pressure on the Falcons to win this if they want to stay alive in the division. They’re already hanging by a thread there.
The good news, as we’ve chronicled throughout the week, is that this is a winnable matchup for the Falcons. They get a Giants team that looks like one of the league’s worst, even in a weird year, and that team is in the midst of re-shuffling its offensive line. If there was an opponent to draw besides the lowly Cardinals before the bye week, New York is the one.
We’ll hope the additions of Grady Jarrett and Derrick Shelby help solidify this defensive line and defense, which is going to have a tough time with Saquon Barkley, and that the offense keeps rolling. A win here would get the Falcons to 3-4, tantalizingly close to .500, and into a bye week that should get them marginally closer to being a healthy football team.
Let’s do this thing. Go Falcons!
