We gotta talk about some of the misconceptions about Devonta Freeman

First Fan post here so sorry for any errors or formatting mess.

Anyway there are a lot of fans who don't like Devonta Freeman and for weird reasons. There were some people who were saying he always injury prone when the only time he missed games was last year due to concussions and he only missed 2 out of the 16. Now yes he has been hurt this year but prior to that he rarely missed games. People expected the front office to foresee this and not give him a contract. And speaking of the contract it's another thing that people like to bring up. Saying he is not worth top 10 running back money when pretty much every football grading website says he is a top 10 back. He got paid because he has shown to be a top 10 back in the league. People keep bringing up the blocking and yes we all know that Free is not a good blocking back, but neither is Coleman.

Here is a tweet about the best blocking running backs from last year

Even when injured Free was still slightly better blocking. Look I get it that many are still mad from the missed Super Bowl block, that made me mad too. However, we can't let one play define a person's career because that is just being ignorant. We all know Freeman is not a good blocking back so it's up to OL to block better or Sark to put the FB in more.

People also act like Freeman is some curse that stalls out the offense when that is not true. In fact the O-line blocked better with Free last year in the backfield than with Coleman.

Also remember the offensive pace article? https://www.thefalcoholic.com/2018/10/4/17925558/atlanta-falcons-quarter-season-pace-on-offense

If Freeman misses the rest of the year, then Coleman's best year will presumably be the same as Free's worse year as a starter. That's not good. The comparisons between the two need to stop, based on their careers up to this point Free seems like the more complete back and is therefore the starter. The team already has him locked up so instead of focusing on replacing Freeman the team should focus on building a better OL. Also for Sark to use him better...literally no reason he should be doing toss plays 24/7 especially with Freeman
