The Atlanta Falcons got some good news Monday afternoon about rookie sensation Calvin Ridley.
The team’s 2018 first-round pick left Sunday’s win with what looked to be an ankle injury, but ESPN’s Vaughn McClure shared exactly what is ailing the young wide receiver.
Looks like MRI on rookie Calvin Ridley's injured left ankle came back pretty clean. Believed to be just a bone bruise, according to source. We'll see how Ridley responds to rehab, with the Falcons playing the Giants next Monday night. Falcons have bye... https://t.co/DRovYxQFmp

It’s great that Ridley’s MRI is clean, and he’ll have an extra day to rest up and perhaps be active for the team’s Monday night bout with the New York Giants.
Though, as McClure notes, the team’s bye follows the Monday game, so don’t be surprised if Atlanta wants to be cautious with their surging rookie and let him heal his ankle up for the team’s second half of the schedule.
We don’t quite know what’s to come with WR Mohamed Sanu and his hip injury, and we’re not sure if the rehab and rest Ridley will go through this week will be enough to get him 100 percent for next week.
For now, let’s just be glad Ridley’s ankle isn’t worse than it could’ve been and hope that he’s good and ready to go for next week.
