For the first time in decades, the Falcons defense did not give up more than 30 points (29 does count). In what will probably be a theme for this season, the defense won the narrow turnover battle and that ultimately made the difference in this game, since they mostly seemed incapable of stopping anything otherwise. Here are your potential DPOG candidates.
Damontae Kazee
For the third straight week, Kazee picked off another ball - this time on a poorly thrown pass by Jameis Winston. In a season where the team has been decimated by injuries, Kazee has been a bright spot on the defense. His future on this roster looks incredibly bright.
Jack Crawford
With Grady Jarrett out, it was critical for Crawford to deliver in the middle. He definitely did that, delivering a key sack in the game and generating pressure up the middle on several other plays. He’s beginning to live up to the potential we thought he’d have as a pass rusher on the inside.
Some other rando
I’ll be honest, I couldn’t think of anyone else that really stood out on this defense. Let me know what random player you think belongs here.
