Falcons vs. Buccaneers: Channel, announcers, kickoff time, and key questions for Week 6

The Falcons are underwater, but they can re-surface a bit if they beat an inept defense and expert offense when they play the Buccaneers.

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Two days from now, the Falcons will be playing again, hoping to reverse a three game skid that has left them shipwrecked on the rocks of despair or somesuch. They’ll attempt to do so, fittingly enough, against the Buccaneers.

It is genuinely anyone’s guess whether the Falcons can win, because it’s going to require either a truly superlative offensive performance, a more solid defensive one, or both. We just haven’t seen much to feel good about for Atlanta over the last month aside from the offense, which wilted badly against a Steelers team that was willing to go right after Matt Ryan. I feel better about their chances at home against a defense that’s just as inept as the Falcons’, but stopping Jameis Winston has always been tough for this Atlanta team, and their personnel hasn’t been this weak in a little while.

I like to think they can win—this and the Giants game are two of the better matchups the rest of the way—but we’ll see. Head into this game with modest expectations and hope for the best.
