NFL picks, Week 6: The Falcoholic staff and friends predict Buccaneers vs. Falcons and more

On one hand, the Falcons defense is bad. On the other hand, they play the Buccaneers this week. After years of watching Mike Smith and Dirk Koetter’s efforts with the Falcons, we all know there’s a chance against this team. Division games are always weird, and most of our staff and friends think the Falcons can pull it off this week.

We’ve got the Eagles and Giants on Thursday Night Football, and our pickers don’t have a lot of confidence in New York against the reigning Super Bowl champions. Most of our panel believes the Panthers get a win over Washington, and the majority is going with the Chiefs over the Patriots. Nobody thinks the 49ers have any kind of shot at beating the Packers on Monday Night Football.

Everyone but Kendall Jackson — and the Falcons, obviously — had a great week last week. Five of our pickers had perfect 4-0 records with last week’s picks.

This week, we welcome Gil Arcia from Bucs Nation as our frenemy guest picker. Our reader guest picker is jj062492, and our representative from the canine world, Baxter Thomas, is back with his picks this week.

He finally picked the Falcons, after predicting a tie against the Saints (which went to overtime, so he was kind of right) and picking against the Falcons for the past few weeks. He’s got an impeccable record when it comes to Atlanta, so hopefully he’s correct.
