Projecting the Falcons statistical performance versus the Chicago Bears

Stats!

I love stats and I love fantasy football, so it wasn’t difficult to marry the two for this particular feature. Basically, I want to take a look at what I think will be the statistical output for our favorite team each week of the season, based on past performance, talent, opponent, and a little bit of guess-based wizardry. I’m hopeful you guys will be interested in trying it out for yourselves, as well.

This sort of spoils my prediction for the game ahead, but here’s what I expect the Falcons to do against Chicago.

Offense: 31 points, 430 yards

Matt Ryan: 19/27, 320 yards, 3 TDs/1 INT

Devonta Freeman: 16 carries, 85 yards, 1 TD, 2 receptions, 15 yards

Tevin Coleman: 6 carries, 25 yards, 1 reception, 15 yards

Julio Jones: 7 receptions, 90 yards, 1 TD

Austin Hooper: 6 receptions, 50 yards, 1 TD

Mohamed Sanu: 5 receptions, 60 yards

Taylor Gabriel: 2 receptions, 60 yards, 1 TD

Justin Hardy: 1 reception, 20 yards

Levine Toilolo: 1 reception, 10 yards

Defense: 20 points, 315 yards

Vic Beasley: 1 sack

Adrian Clayborn: 1 sack, 1 forced fumble

Deion Jones: 1 interception

Robert Alford: 1 interception, 1 pass deflection

Special Teams

Matt Bryant: 4/4 XP, 1/1 field goals

Matt Bosher: 2 punts, 47 yards per punt

Andre Roberts: 4 kickoff returns, 62 yards and a touchback, 3 punt returns, 40 yards

Please give us your projections, if you’re willing, and let me know if this is a feature you’re interested in seeing continued or not.
