The Atlanta Falcons have just completed a long, long offseason that simultaneously flew by and seemed to drag forever thanks to the Super Bowl hangover. At last, though, we don’t have to deal with 28-3 jokes and conjecture. The play on the field is going to tell us everything we need to know.

The first game provides a perfect opportunity for the Falcons to get the 2017 season started right, thanks to a prime matchup against the Chicago Bears. It’s a road game, sure, but there aren’t going to be many easier games the rest of the way, thanks to Chicago’s injured and inept offense and merely okay defense. Let’s hope Atlanta can get in the win column early, especially with a tough Packers team coming to town in Week 2.
