Atlanta Falcons center Alex Mack and quarterback Matt Ryan go together like peanut butter and jelly. It shouldn’t shock anyone that Ryan’s career is peaking two years after Thomas Dimitroff made Mack his priority in free agency. Mack has singlehandedly stabilized the offensive line, breathing new life into this team.
Mack is so good that he’s arguably the league’s best center. Here’s what Pro Football Focus had to say about him today:
Atlanta Falcons C Alex Mack has made an impressive start to the season. His overall grade of 94.0 through three games is comfortably the highest grade among both centers and all other offensive linemen.
According to PFF, Mack has been dominant while run blocking and in pass protection. They credit Mack for Freeman’s dynamic performances and they point out Mack’s 99.3 pass-blocking efficiency. (He’s allowed a single QB pressure in 102 passing snaps. That’s good. That’s really good.)
So in short, the sky is blue. Water is wet. Dave is drunk. Your thoughts, Falcoholics?
