The Atlanta Falcons have recently been hit by the dreaded injury bug. The coaches and training staff did an excellent job keeping players healthy throughout training camp and the preseason, but we knew their luck would run out at some point. Now the team is focused on getting healthy once again.

Head coach Dan Quinn addressed the media today. He discussed the Falcons’ injury situation, noting that Ryan Schraeder and Ricardo Allen are still in the concussion protocol. He’d later go on to talk about Falcons linebacker Vic Beasley, saying he is “closer” and that he’d be running today.

Beasley originally injured his hamstring during the third quarter of the Falcons’ win against the Green Bay Packers. It was a freak injury caused when Beasley got jammed up by a blocker and his leg twisted awkwardly beneath him. Initially the expectation was that he’d be out approximately a month. While it seems like he’s trending in the right direction, don’t expect him back before the bye week. According to Vaughn McClure, Beasley was still noticeably limping today on the field.
