Matt Ryan has been one of the better quarterbacks in NFL history at leading his team on game winning drives in the fourth quarter, so it shouldn’t come as any great surprise that he’s making history in that regard. Again.
Matt Ryan's 34th GWD ties him with Dan Marino for the most thru 10 seasons in NFL history https://t.co/beMi6s2Plz— Scott Kacsmar (@FO_ScottKacsmar) September 26, 2017
You can’t give all the credit to Ryan for these, obviously—it helps when you’ve got a good team around you and a great kicker, for example—but it’s still a testament to Ryan’s ability to keep his team in games even when ludicrous things happen, like three interceptions.
In the linked article, too, we see that Ryan and Matthew Stafford are on track to potentially surpass Peyton Manning for the most fourth quarter comeback wins ever, as they’re A) more than halfway there and B) ahead of Manning’s own pace at the moment. It’s just small, interesting facet of what is looking more and more like a Hall of Fame career for Ryan.
