Austin Hooper’s 88 yard touchdown is the play of the game against Chicago

Nice wheels, young tight end.

Regardless of what happens in the minutes remaining in the Falcons-Bears game, Austin Hooper has the play of the game. And I say that knowing full well he has another 40 yard reception to his name already since I started typing this article.

Watch this play and get a feel for how fast, powerful, and instinctive the team’s starting tight end is, and then tell me how he fell all the way to the third round. I don’t mean to gush, but it’s very obvious that the only thing that held Hooper back in 2016 was a lack of opportunity and a need to learn the team’s offense. He has the tools to be a truly dominant force at his position.

Here, you can watch a wide-open Austin Hooper (thanks, busted play) catch the ball, stiff arm a defender to the turf, and then outrun defenders the rest of the way on a huge touchdown. It was a beautiful play, it gave the Falcons a two score lead, and it is very obviously the best offensive play we’ll see today.

Let’s hope we see many more from Hoopah.
