The Miami Herald has some great news for Miami Hurricane fans and Jermaine Grace enthusiasts: It appears the undrafted free agent linebacker has been told he’s on the roster.
Grace was one of the undrafted guys who impressed right off the bat, and as time has gone by, he’s only impressed more. He’s a plus athlete who has done well all offseason, he plays at a position where young depth would be most welcome. With LaRoy Reynolds injured and his outlook uncertain, Grace could very well find his way to some playing time.
We’ll need to see this proven true tomorrow at the deadline, but there’s no reason to doubt Grace will make the roster. He fills a need, he’s done well enough in preseason to earn a role, and he gives the team a young, high-upside linebacker when LaRoy Reynolds and Kemal Ishmael are free agents a year from now. There are no guarantees, but you’re be hard-pressed to argue against Atlanta keeping Grace.
We’ll go ahead and congratulate him!
