Atlanta Falcons 2017 roster cuts live tracker

New, comments

It’s all gonna happen soon, so why not keep up to date on the latest cuts?

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars at Atlanta Falcons Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

We know you’re as eager to find out what this final roster is going to look like as we are, so we’re going to try to make that as easy as possible for you.

The Falcons must cut down by 4 p.m. tomorrow, but being the Falcons, I’m sure they already have made decisions on all but a small handful of their cuts and will get them done well ahead of the deadline. Given that, you’ll want to be vigilant over the next two days as the team figures things out and drops the axe. After the dust settles, we’ll have a bonafide 53 man roster, and then we’ll find out about the practice squad a day later.

Follow along with the embedded Twitter tracker below, where we’ll mention any interesting cuts from around the league and update you as soon as we see cuts come in for the Falcons. Then you can keep an eye out for our analysis of the cuts, which should follow right afterwards. Don’t thank us, we do it because we love you.

4:21 p.m.: I blanked on the name, but it’s DL A.J. Jefferson who has been cut, alongside OLs Larson Graham and Travis Averill.

4:16 p.m.: The team has also evidently cut tackle Andreas Knappe, linebacker Jack Lynn, kicker Mike Meyer, ....Jefferson?, and cornerback Jarnor Jones.

4:14 p.m.: The Falcons announced or implied that Matt Simms, Alek Torgersen, Anthony Dable, Josh Magee, and D.J. Tialavea have been waived. Torgersen, Dable and Tialavea could be practice squad candidates.

3:32 p.m.: Kelvin Taylor is also gone. He came on strong in the fourth preseason game and could hit the practice squad if Brian Hill doesn’t.

2:40 p.m.: In an Instagram post and Tweet, fullback Tyler Renew confirms he’ll be cut, leaving Derrick Coleman as the team’s starter at the position.

1:57 p.m.: Akeem King is the first to go.
