Falcons vs. Dolphins preseason Week 1: Time, channel, TV schedule and more

Everything you need to know for tomorrow night, when the first preseason game finally kicks off.

Tomorrow night brings the first preseason game, at long last, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome back football in earnest.

When the Falcons challenge the Dolphins (and Jay Cutler, weirdly), it won’t be the kind of game a season hinges on, because it is not the regular season at all. It will be the kind of game where you’ll want to learn jersey numbers and see who stands out, because it is a game that will determine the composition of the final roster and the 10 man practice squad. When you’re the NFC’s defending Super Bowl representative and you’d very much like to go back, that matters a great deal.

When you fire up your completely legal method of watching this on Thursday night, be sure to watch the backup offensive line play, the competition at cornerback, and the fortunes of rookies like Brian Hill, Eric Saubert, and Duke Riley. Be sure to also pray to the Football Gods that the Falcons come out of this one completely healthy. No, seriously, do that.

We are less than 48 hours away from football, friends, and I commend you for surviving the offseason. Here’s everything you’ll need to know for tomorrow night besides announcers, and we’ll have that ASAP.
