Falcons vs. Dolphins preseason 2017: We’re one week away from a real football game

It’s not a regular season game, but it’s a football product! At last!

We have waited months and months and months to see the Atlanta Falcons get on an actual football field and play a game. We have suffered the slings and arrows of outrageous 28-3 jokes, muddled through free agency and the draft, and glued ourselves to camp coverage. And now, we are finally, blissfully one week away from an actual game.

Okay, it’s a preseason game, but you can forgive my excitement. When the Falcons travel to Florida to take on the Dolphins next Thursday night, we’ll get our first real look at some of the rookies vying to make the team, and a short glimpse of our starters. We’ll also understand a modicum better what we should expect from Steve Sarkisian and Marquand Manuel, though preseason play calling is vanilla enough that you shouldn’t expect much more than that.

So join me in marketing your calendars, rejoicing, and reviewing the schedule information below. Let’s talk about our expectations for this one.
