Have you been patiently waiting to learn how many times each Falcons player took the field this past Saturday night? Were you so desperate to get the Falcons snap counts that you briefly considered signing up for a free trial of GamePass just to go frame by frame, tallying each player snap by hand?
Well, you will be relieved to know that the team at The Falcoholic has you covered, employing the latest in snap-counting technology to bring you those precious snap counts. Below is each and every Falcons player that took the field last Saturday along with a number next to that player, with that number signifying the exact number of times that player took the field for a play during Saturday’s game.
While the mysteries of the world are many, such mysteries will no longer include the Falcons snap counts from their August 26 game against the Arizona Cardinals:
Offense
The offensive snap counts are once again dominated by offensive linemen, with Saubert and Simms thrown in for good measure. Schweitzer and Garland were given more extensive work this week, presumably in order to give the team more film on each to review before deciding upon the opening day RG. At the other end of the spectrum, Andreas Knappe and Wil Freeman do not appear to be in the Falcons’ 2017 plans judging by their limited snaps on Saturday (two snaps each).

Defense
The Falcons split up defensive snaps much more evenly than in prior weeks, which was largely the effect of having the “starting” defense play about 23 snaps. The Falcons left C.J. Goodwin in the game late, perhaps hoping to give him some more experience (or confidence) after having gotten beat by various receivers this preseason. LaRoy Reynolds left after one snap and De’Vondre Campbell only played five snaps, which opened up some playing time opportunities for other linebackers on the roster such as Duke Riley, Jermaine Grace, and Josh Keyes.

Special Teams
Grace, Branch, Neasman, and Goodwin all received a ton of combined defense/special teams playing time this past week. In addition to the fact that Neasman, Ishmael, Goodwin, and Riley all received significant special teams playing time, they all appeared on starting units. So expect to see those guys active and out there during the regular season.
