I dunno about you guys, but I’m still getting used to the idea of the Atlanta Falcons being one of the best teams in the NFL. It was only two years ago that we angrily tore out our hair (or at least you did, I don’t have any) over the team’s second half meltdown, after all.
The constant articles like this one, which ranks the Top 100 NFLers based on 53 ESPN experts, certainly help me remember. Ultimately, the Atlanta Falcons were given
Julio, Ryan, Mack, Beasley, Devonta and Trufant all make the cut. https://t.co/aMz3PqR0wa

In case you’re wondering, here is each player’s rank:
- #6: Julio Jones
- #23: Matt Ryan
- #31: Alex Mack
- #46: Vic Beasley
- #66: Devonta Freeman
- #89: Desmond Trufant
You will not be surprised to learn that I think Ryan and Trufant are a little low, and Trufant in particular has been fighting the specter of underration (?) his entire career. If you wanted to make a case that these are the team’s six best players and the most deserving additions to a list like this, though, you won’t get much of an argument from me, other than a note that Ryan Schraeder has quietly played his way on here in recent years.
I wouldn’t really quibble with any of the selections, though, and I look forward to next year, when Deion Jones and Keanu Neal should crack the Top 100. How do you feel about the list?
