The team has terrified us all week by suggesting that Julio Jones and Taylor Gabriel, who are both recuperating from injury, could play this Saturday. Most of us would prefer they just sat out until the regular season, but good luck keeping healthy, motivated players off the field.
Dan Quinn still hasn’t made his decision on either player, saying he’ll be waiting to see how they look tomorrow.

Julio is the greatest receiver in the world and Gabriel is a speedy, dangerous receiver, and both are going to be integral to this offense this year. I would very much like to ensure both make it to the season healthy, so I’m hopeful neither will get much time on the field if they do suit up. The team is already taking a smart, cautious approach with Devonta Freeman’s concussion, and Jones and Gabriel are also very vital.
We’ll have the news as soon as it’s announced, so stay tuned! I know this isn’t helping anyone’s anxiety in the meantime.
