Julio Jones “looks” like he will play in Saturday’s preseason game

Dan Quinn, we literally just asked you yesterday to not put Julio in harm’s way for a preseason game.

It feels like it was literally just yesterday we asked Dan Quinn to sit Julio Jones through the rest of preseason. This man does not need a single rep of practice to be the best in the league, and the risk of injury exists so he can show up in a glorified practice.

Well, it looks like he is preparing to play, per long time beat writer D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Falcons All-Pro wide receiver Julio Jones was on top of his game in practice on Tuesday. He looks like he’s preparing to play on Saturday.

The team probably wants to open the new $1.5 billion Mercedes-Benz stadium with a touchdown play form last year’s MVP to arguably this decade’s most dynamic player. I get that. I also get that you want Julio to knock off any rust, as if he would ever allow himself to be rusty.

We got a scare a few days ago when Odell Beckham hammed up an ankle injury, but the risk for a bad injury exists. I do not need to see Julio full speed, and I’d prefer to wait for a full speed practice against the expansion team Chicago Bears in week one.
