Do you draft Atlanta Falcons in fantasy football?

To homer pick or not to homer pick.

It is time for fantasy football drafts across America, where millions of people will be forced to participate in some work league where players like Marshawn Lynch and Adrian Peterson are still going in the first round because they sort of recognize those names. No, Sharon, you can’t take Peyton Manning.

Fantasy football strategies are like opinions. Everyone has one and they almost universally terrible. I try to stay away from drafting Falcons but always end up with a few across a handful of leagues. I’m good with taking Julio Jones near the top of the draft, and going full homer by picking up the Falcons defense in the last round.

I feel weird drafting anyone else, unless they drop far enough they become a value pick. I think there’s too much emotion in drafting from your own team, and even your most hated team. Willie Snead will definitely not be on any of my teams, along with any Atlanta wide receiver or tight end not named Julio.

Do you draft Falcons players? And do you have rules, like no Saints players?
