Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones is arguably the league’s best player. If you were a mad scientist drinking copious amounts of Red Bull and working overtime, you couldn’t Frankenstein a better football player. That’s why it’s nearly impossible to swallow any rankings that don’t have him at number one.
Rotoden’s Jack Levy released his WR power rankings today. He ranked Julio second. He ranked Antonio Brown first.
It was a hard decision putting Jones at 2 as he is one of many elite receivers. While the Falcons gave up a ton of assets to get him in the 2011 draft, he has been more than worth it. Jones has been a huge key to quarterback, Matt Ryan’s success. Last season he recorded 180 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the NFC Championship, leading the Falcons to the Superbowl where they blew a huge lead. In order for the Falcons to redeem themselves this season, they will need a big year from Jones.
I don’t envy Levy, even if I disagree with him. I’m sure he will take his fair share of internet bullying over this decision. To be frank, if you’re try to decide whether Brown or Jones is better, you’re really just flipping a coin. Rounding out his top five are AJ Green, Odell Beckham Jr., and Mike Evans.
