Falcons preseason talk: Who will shine in today’s game against the Steelers?

New, comments

It doesn’t mean much to shine in preseason, but it’s still fun to watch.

Later today, we’ll get to watch the second Falcons preseason game, with all the standout performances and third-string mistakes that will inevitably entail. While we’re waiting for the game to come around, let’s talk about who will shine for the Falcons today.

My pick, as you might guess from the photo above, is Justin Hardy. He’s been terrific all summer but was relatively quiet in the first preseason game, which means he’s due to have a nice preseason game and get us all excited about his potential again. The question during the regular season is whether he’ll have enough targets to be relevant, but the talent is obvious.

Defensively, I’d keep an eye on C.J. Goodwin, a supremely motivated cornerback who will be looking to bounce back after a mediocre first week. Don’t be stunned if he has a couple of highlight reel plays against the talented Steelers receivers.

Who would be your pick(s?)
