ESPN builds the best NFL team under the salary cap, but it only has one Falcon

It’s Deion Jones.

If you were going to build the best possible team you could, keep it under the salary cap, and take no more than three players from any one team, what would your squad look like?

Bill Barnwell at ESPN originated that question and answered it in a long, thoughtful piece that’s worth reading in full. Every list has flaws, however, and as a Falcons blog we are duty-bound to inform you that Barnwell only saw fit to include one Atlanta player in his whole list. HOW DARE HE.

That player is Deion Jones, who is cheap, may already be one of the two or three best middle linebackers in the game, and is an extraordinarily sensible choice here. I was surprised not to see the likes of Keanu Neal, Tevin Coleman, and perhaps Austin Hooper on this list, bluntly, but aside from Neal none of those feel like massive mistakes.

Go review the whole thing and tell us where you’d put Falcons in.
