Falcons-Dolphins post-game injury report: everyone stays healthy

Fact: Desmond Trufant is addicted to selfies

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Falcons dropped their preseason opener to an up and coming Miami Dolphins squad tonight. The starters were pulled early, so it’s nothing to be concerned about. Overall the first stringers impressed, the defensive depth looked solid, and everyone stayed healthy.

There weren’t really any noteworthy injuries during the game. The Falcons took a cautious approach on purpose, sitting several players who were nursing or recovering from injuries.

There was only one scary exception: Desmond Trufant executed a cringeworthy tackle early in the game. It’s not clear whether the tackle affected his right shoulder or his head. But he immediately asked to be taken out of the game. Given how last year played out, his exit was a heart-stopping moment. Remember, that week nine shoulder injury ended his season. There’s no reason to panic, but it’s certainly something to keep an eye on.
