If you thought there were no heights left for Julio Jones to reach, you were wrong. Now he’s going to be hanging around with Carrie Underwood on Sunday nights.
Per Matthew Tabeek with the mothership, Julio’s one of ten players who will appear in the introduction for the Sunday night fixture, which features a song that’s much catchier than I’d care to admit. I assume—I hope—he will dance.
It’s also fair to assume that Julio will be a fixture in the intro during the team’s two Sunday Night games, a part of a pretty solid lineup of primetime matchups the team drew after making the Super Bowl in 2016. The first comes during Week 2, the home opener at Mercedes-Benz Stadium versus the Packers, while the second will see the Falcons playing the Patriots in a Super Bowl rematch in frozen New England during Week 7.
Congratulations to Julio. I’m sure he’ll treasure this honor more than any other.
