It’s the Fourth of July, which means a day off in the summer heat, plenty of libations, and grilling. Oh, the grilling.

Help your fellow undecided Falcoholics out with your best Fourth of July recipes, be they for the grill or not. Here’s mine.

Blueberry Habanero Chicken (of course I know what berries are, I’m a berry expert)

4 chicken breasts, butterflied

1 pint of blueberries

1-4 diced habanero peppers, with seeds (depending on preferred heat)

1 tablespoon lime juice

Dash of pepper and salt

  1. Dice peppers, don’t dice blueberries. Add blueberries, peppers, lime juice and pepper and salt into blender or food processor. Puree until smooth. If you don’t have a blender or food processor, mash the hell out of everything with a potato masher.
  2. Butterfly chicken breasts and throw into a plastic bag with the marinade. Allow it all to chill out in the fridge for a couple of hours.
  3. Get your grill going on high heat. Toss the chicken on and flip twice, flipping every 4-5 minutes.
  4. Serve and enjoy.
