The Falcons have freed up some roster spots in recent days, but if you were expecting them to land Dwight Freeney, you'll be disappointed. At least for now.
The team has instead added a pair of young wide receivers to a crowded mix, as is their summer custom.

Cherry, a former Titan, was a semi-productive receiver in college, but with a 4.55 40 and 5’11 height, he doesn't have elite measurables. With good hands, though, there's a small chance he'll catch on as a special teamed and final receiver on the roster. Can't say I expect it, though.
Davis III is related to Brandin Cooks, and while he's not that good, he is speedy and aggressive tracking down the ball, and spent some time with the Falcons earlier this spring. His chances are probably better than Cherry's, but practice squad feels like his best shot this year.
Welcome to the team, gentlemen!
