Atlanta Falcons defensive end Takk McKinley hasn’t a played a single down as a professional yet. That hasn’t stopped him from making a strong impression on Falcons fans and endearing himself to football fans everywhere.
Takk is also selling lots of jerseys. The AJC’s JuliaKate E. Culpepper first took note of the phenomenon on Tuesday. As of today, he’s selling the 9th most jerseys among NFL rookies and he’s selling the third most Falcons jerseys (behind quarterback Matt Ryan, who ranks 38th, and freakish manbeast Julio Jones, who ranks 18th).
He’s sold the 68th most jerseys overall “this season,” but he’s enjoyed a slight spike recently, putting him at 64th. He’s currently selling the 16th most jerseys among all defensive players, just one spot behind Oakland Raiders defensive end Khalil Mack.
So what does this all mean? It means he’s got a dynamic personality and a similarly dynamic skillset that’s tagging along.
