The Atlanta Falcons have some very good players, sources confirm.
Pete Prisco at CBS is regarded as one of the most ornery and difficult NFL analysts, a reputation he’s earned by being ornery and difficult. He’s also a bright guy who has tended to give the Falcons a fair shake, so when he puts seven Atlanta players on his list of the Top 100 guys in the NFL, I gotta give him his due.
Here you go: Top 100 players in the league. Eat it up. https://t.co/E8SnNE1fpE— Pete Prisco (@PriscoCBS) June 8, 2017
In case you’re lazy and/or bad at scrolling, here’s the Falcons on this list.
#6: Julio Jones
#8: Matt Ryan
#37: Vic Beasley
#68: Alex Mack
#95: Grady Jarrett
#98: Devonta Freeman
#100: Deion Jones
I probably don’t need to tell you that I’d quibble with a few items here. I don’t think Freeman should be so low, running back or no, and I have no idea how you leave perennially great cornerback Desmond Trufant off your life. Overall, though, this all seems pretty fair and balanced. It’s striking to realize that guys like Jarrett, Jones and Beasley could all be risers sooner than later, and Keanu Neal isn’t even on the list yet. The Falcons have a pretty nice little foundation to build upon.
Argue about the list all you wish in the comments, and let’s hope Prisco has reason to put 8-10 Falcons on the list next year.
