It's actually kind of startling, given the team's sometimes brutal draft history, but the Falcons have only have one instance in their history where their top pick didn't even suit up for them. There were plenty of first round busts along the way, sure, but this is still unusual.
The player in question never got into a game in the NFL, much less for the Falcons, despite coming out of college from a major program and seemingly having some genuine promise. Injury wrecked his chances of contributing for a defense that turned out to be pretty great after his exit from the NFL. Poor guy.
