The NFL Top 100 is one of those lists you love to hate when your favorite players aren’t on it, and love to love when they are. This is one of the rare years where the latter applies.
NFL Network unveiled the #11-#20 players on the list last night, and the Falcons were noticeably absent. To this point, Atlanta’s had Devonta Freeman and Vic Beasley on the list, and as good as both are, they don’t have the widespread recognition due to Matt Ryan or Julio Jones. That greatly raises the odds that Ryan and Julio will be in the top ten, and perhaps even the top five.

This shouldn’t change your life or anything, but it’s a welcome change of pace after Ryan in particular was left out of the top 100 more than once in recent years. Julio should be a top ten selection every season for his otherworldly excellence. I had put Alex Mack into this article, but I didn’t watch the show last night, so I didn’t realize #19 was the best offensive lineman on the list. Alas, Mack has been snubbed. Still, we’re allowed to bask in this a little during the offseason, right?
Anyways, check back in next Monday on NFL Network with us to see exactly where Ryan and Julio end up.
