Atlanta Falcons OTAs: Thursday Recap

It’s that time of year again! Falcons are finally getting in jerseys and practicing. You can just smell football in the air.

It’s been too long since I’ve seen $150 million of salary stretching, so this is a welcome sight. Football is slowly creeping closer.

Atlanta has one of the league’s best offensive lines, but questions remain at right guard. Another year together with the remaining four starters should do wonders for keeping Matt Ryan upright.

I’m going to guess both players get a real chance, but tie goes to Schweitzer. He has a history with the offensive line coach, while Garland can have an impact on defense.

It’s still early in the offseason, but luckily no one on the team is expected to have a lengthy rehab.

Maybe the most impressive thing we have seen recently is a big impact from depth wide receivers. I loved Terry Robiskie, but we never saw these results before.

I like that this team has added a ton of speed through LSU, while giving Saints fans conflicting thoughts on who to root for.

It’s easy to forget that Ishmael had a great stretch at linebacker last season before ending up on injured reserve. He may be an impact depth player, drastically improving over the likes of Sean Weatherspoon and Paul Worrilow.

Young guy bringing the heat!

One of the reasons Dan Quinn is great? He loves to get in there with players.

That’s everything interesting from the first open OTA. If guys are healthy and rookies look good, I consider it a pretty big success.
