Our Falcons trivia series has been fun (for me, at least), so we’re going to keep this thing rolling until I run out of interesting stats and tidbits to post. Today, we’ll focus on a single, specific play.
The question is this: Who owns the franchise record for the longest reception, and how long was that catch? Your first instinct will be to pick a speed demon from the team’s history and roll with him, but your first instinct would be wrong, as mine often is when I start researching these. Indeed, one of the best things about these trips down memory lane is that they kindle fond memories of players I haven’t had reason to think of for at least a decade, as I suspect this one will for those of you who have been around a while.
Extremely small hint: This man played for the Falcons within the last 30 years (I said 20, but it’s because I was getting the yardage mixed up with the year), and was a pretty talented player. Give it your best guess.
