Rookie minicamp is a proving ground for some of the team’s youngest players, and one of their few opportunities to shine without veterans overshadowing them and jockeying for their jobs. There will also be several rookies trying out for a shot at a spot on the 90 man roster and a longer look over the summer, so the stakes are high for anyone the team didn’t invest a significant draft pick in.
It’s also less than a week away. We’ve missed you, football!

Minicamp kicks off for the Falcons on May 12 and will run through May 14, and hopefully we’ll get some insight into the players who figure to be early standouts, particularly amongst the class of 21 undrafted free agents the Falcons just brought in. While we’re a long way away from training camp, even, this will help to tide us over and gin up some fresh excitement for what should be a great 2017 season.
