Atlanta had a Super Bowl run in them in 2016, and while they ultimately fell short, it didn’t shake my faith in the team’s foundation. This is a team with one of the better motivators in the game as the head coach and a ton of talent, so while there are no guarantees, I like their chances to get back.
History will work against them in 2017, but I see this as a playoff team with another good run in them, at the least. What does that translate to in terms of record?
As I’ve said so many times before, I think the Falcons won’t exceed their 2016 record with a tougher NFC South on the docket, but I do think they should be able to equal it. I had them at 10-6 before I saw the full offseason, but after a solid free agent class and a nice draft, I’m a believe they can go 11-5. Some of you may think that’s too low, but I do think that record will be enough to put Atlanta at the top of the NFC South and as one of the top seeds in the conference, and who knows from there.
How about you?
