Atlanta Falcons players and coaches will have a lot of tough questions to answer throughout the offseason. One of the top questions is undoubtably if they can recover from that Super Bowl incident that no one in Atlanta wants to think about.

The team has long flashed greatness, but not consistently enough to finish. Can they bounce back from the let down in the big game, and overcome some coaching changes? Courtney Upshaw thinks so.

Upshaw told Jake Weaver of Touchdown Alabama what he thinks about Dan Quinn’s brotherhood.

“Luckily, we made it to the Super Bowl, although we lost. It was kind of crazy though, man. I tell people I would play for Coach Quinn any day. We preached a brotherhood there and it was just something different. I enjoyed my time in Baltimore, for real, and I definitely miss my teammates and some of the coaches there, but it was just something different about being in Atlanta.”

We hear this from a lot of players, and it feels more real than some empty motto thrown around in the offseason. Upshaw, of course, has played under two very qualified coaches in Nick Saban and John Harbaugh. The fact that there’s something different about Atlanta goes a long ways, and it might be what previous teams had been missing.

Asked if the Falcons can return to the Super Bowl, Upshaw had this to say.

“Of course. We know what it takes to get there, everybody’s bought in, even the young guys. Like I said man, there’s something about being around this program man, being around the coaches. Even my teammates, we didn’t really lose too much, we brought everybody back, thankfully. We know what we need to do, we just got to go finish.”

The players and coaches are all saying the right things. If anyone can get a team over the end of last season, it is Dan Quinn.
