The Atlanta Falcons will be playing their home games in a different stadium than the Georgia Dome for the first time in decades. That new stadium has persistent concerns over the roof, which is natural when your roof is insanely expensive and complex, but it’s looking awfully close to completion.

Mercedes-Benz Stadium is big & pricey, and Atlanta hopes it will become the new gem of the city's downtown makeover. https://t.co/RTbb7IYFLs pic.twitter.com/2BVqmP9vjb

Every big stadium is supposed to revitalize the downtown in its chosen city, and while I’m always skeptical of that outcome, the stadium itself looks like it’ll be fantastic. Every time we get one of these updates and see the stadium looking more like the final, finished product—particularly with the sweet, sacrifice-ready falcon statue out front—it feels a little more real.
We’re looking forward to seeing games in the new stadium, and hopefully there are no delays that get in the way of the Falcons hosting their home opener there.
