One of the things we like to do during the offseason is idly speculate about who will lead the team in various statistical categories. We’re not going to do it with passing yards or receiving yards, because that would be silly. There is actually a question of who might lead the team in interceptions, however, so that’s where we’ll turn our focus today.
I polled Twitter on this very question last night, and predictably the three (serious) responses were Robert Alford, Deion Jones, and Ricardo Allen.
Question of the night for those of you who absolutely do not have something better to do: Who leads the Falcons in interceptions this year?

A few threw in Desmond Trufant or Keanu Neal, but I think it’s wise to bet on one of the men who has picked a lot of passes for the Falcons in the recent past. Alford has consistently come up with a handful of big interceptions per season, Jones was a dynamo a year ago and is going to make quarterbacks hesitate when they’re throwing in his direction, and Allen has largely lived up to his reputation as a ballhawk since arriving in Atlanta. I’ve got Alford, but any of the three would be fine choices.
Who is your pick?
