Falcons rookie minicamp, day two tracker

Atlanta’s back on the practice field later today.

NFL: Atlanta Falcons-Training Camp Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Yesterday brought a few updates regarding the Falcons’ rookie class, chiefly that rookies Damontae Kazee and Sean Harlow impressed on the first day of camp. There’s a long journey ahead for all of these players, though, so we’ll take that as an early, encouraging sign and little more.

I’m hopeful the second day will give us more updates on undrafted free agents vying for spots on this team, because one or two will make it and several more will populate the practice squad, and those are the most interesting stories of the summer. Players like Takkarist McKinley and Duke Riley are primed to make their impact during the regular season, but camp, mini or otherwise, is where the UDFAs make noise.

I’ll retweet the good stuff so you’ll see it in our Twitter timeline below, and Jeanna Thomas will have highlights from today’s action first thing tomorrow morning. In the meantime, enjoy your Saturdays, everyone.
