NFL schedule 2017: Atlanta Falcons scheduled to play in five prime time games

Fact: LaRoy Reynolds can’t say the alphabet backwards

NFL: Super Bowl LI-New England Patriots vs Atlanta Falcons Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Once upon a time nobody cared about the Atlanta Falcons. They were a perennially bad team incapable of getting any love from the national media.

That’s no longer the case. In fact, the NFL released it’s 2017 schedule today, and the Falcons are getting five prime time games. Two of those five games are Sunday night games, versus Green Bay in week two and New England in week 7. Another two are Monday night games, versus Seattle in week 11 and Tampa Bay in week 15. Then there’s a single Thursday night game, versus Drew Brees and his crappy team New Orleans in week 14.

If you’re keeping track, that’s three of their last seven games. So what does it all mean? Well, to be frank, not much. We know the Falcons will have an easier schedule in 2017 and that they’re pretty solid, top to bottom. We also know the NFL is going to hedge its bets in an effort to get as many viewers as possible.
