Roddy White coming out of retirement to coach high school football

He’ll be great at it, too.

When Roddy White was still with the Falcons, I covered the football camp he hosted for kids. Something that stood out to me then was how happy White was teaching the kids who attended. Now White is coming out of retirement to do that full time as a high school football coach at John’s Creek High School.

John’s Creek football announced the news Thursday via its Twitter account, and FootballScoop.com reported that White will be serving as the team’s wide receivers coach. That, of course, makes sense.

The new head coach at John’s Creek seems excited to welcome White to his staff.

It’s been just over a year since the Falcons parted ways with White. It’s great to see that he’s getting back into the game that he loves, especially since he so obviously loved coaching kids at his camps. He’ll be great at it, the players will benefit from his knowledge and experience, and everybody wins.

We wish the best of luck to White in this new endeavor.
