The Falcons were busy today extending some of their own players, with only new face being former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Jack Crawford. He looks like rotational veteran that could push inside on passing downs, similar to Adrian Clayborn.
But in the end, the contract numbers are the biggest judge of the deal. The Falcons did well.
#Falcons add Jack Crawford on a 3-year, $10.3M deal with $3.75M due in Year 1, source said. Getting longer up front.

The $3.75 million should include the signing bonus and first year salary. His cap hit should be in the low $2 million this season, and he has a chance to continue earning money in unguaranteed year two and three.
Crawford has 7.5 sacks in the last two seasons, and should get a chance to set the edge and provide a little pass rush this season. He may only see one or two “starts” and play 20 to 30 percent of the snaps.
