The Atlanta Falcons cast some important votes regarding new rule proposals this week. We’ve discussed a few of the proposed changes over the past few days, some that were utterly ridiculous more reasonable than others.
Well now the voting is done. And we have some new rules and rule changes. NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano published the entire NFL press release on Twitter earlier today.

Of note are the prohibition on “leaping” during field goals and defenseless player protection for receivers running routes. While there’s clearly an ongoing focus on player safety, the gross expansion of ejection and suspension powers didn’t materialize. So that’s good news.
