Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is a fantastic football player. His nine year career has met and, for the most part, exceeded expectations. His unquestioned leadership, outstanding talent, and unwavering dedication to the game makes him an ideal franchise quarterback. But is he just the best to ever line up under center for the Falcons, is he one of the best to ever play his position?
NFL writer and Football Outsiders Assistant Editor Scott Kacsmar made an interesting observation earlier tonight on The Twitter. (That’s what the kids call it, right?)
Most MVP QBs who get to the SB make the HOF, and Ryan's 9-year run is better than most in this group he's in. @abhireddy2 pic.twitter.com/dMnxmRWsC7

Let’s start with the obvious: Matty isn’t there yet. If his career ended tomorrow, he wouldn’t get many Hall of Fame votes. That said, a MVP year coupled with a Super Bowl appearance absolutely altered his career trajectory. He’s effectively inched closer to that status, even if he’s got a long way to go.
