Tonight, the NFL will hold its annual Honors show, and the Falcons are actually contenders for multiple awards. It would be fair to say that we did not expect this coming into the year, but we are totally allowed to bask in it right now.

Here’s what you need to know tonight. If you can’t watch for some reason, we will of course let you know if any of your beloved Atlanta Falcons should pull down awards.

NFL Honors show

When: Saturday, February 4th, 8 p.m. EST

Where: Do we honestly care?

Channel: FOX

Why you’re watching: Matt Ryan is a frontrunner for the 2016 NFL MVP award, and that’s the biggest single reason. Ryan is essentially competing with Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady, and while his numbers don’t clearly separate him from those two, it’s anticipated #2 will win this for the first time in his area. That plus a Super Bowl ring would put Ryan on track for Canton, and oh god the goosebumps.

Deion Jones and Keanu Neal are also legitimate contenders for Defensive Rookie of the Year, and both were terrific for this growing Falcons defense in 2016.

Heck, Vic Beasley and his league-leading sack total should be in play for the Defensive Player of the Year, and if the majority of sportswriters go by that big shiny number, he may very well win it.

It’s a good year to be an Atlanta Falcon, in other words, and we’ll soon learn just how good.
