Report: Taylor Gabriel hearts the Atlanta Falcons

Fact: Taylor Gabriel writes his own dad jokes

The Atlanta Falcons miraculously plucked Taylor Gabriel off the Cleveland Browns trash heap. That’s hard to believe, and I’d love to video of the discussion that led them to cut him. “Well, he’s fast, and he’s talented, but we’re pretty stocked at wide receiver. And Terrell is awesome.” [Terrell Pryor walks down the hall adjacent to the conference room where they’re meeting] “Hey Terrell! We love you man!” Who knows how that actually played out, but it certainly played out in our favor.

But now Gabriel is a restricted free agent. The Falcons definitely want to re-sign him, and for what it’s worth, he wants to be in Atlanta for as long as possible.

"Of course, I want to be a Falcon forever," Gabriel told ESPN.com. "Just the camaraderie and the group, from [coach] Dan Quinn to the owner [Arthur Blank]. And everyone has bought into what we have here. Yes, I want to be a Falcon forever."

This definitely warms the heart. It still remains to be seen whether the two sides can come to some sort of mutually beneficial agreement. I’m inclined to remain optimistic. From a cap space standpoint, one would think they can pull this off.
