Introducing the 2016-17 Atlanta Falcons roster review

Where we take a closer look at a great roster.

NFL: Super Bowl LI-New England Patriots vs Atlanta Falcons Dan Powers-USA TODAY Sports

Every year, once the dust settles on the Atlanta Falcons season that was, we take a look at the positions that helped to make the team a success. Or a failure. There are those years.

This year, for a variety of reasons, we let the dust settle a bit longer than usual. But now we’re ready to look at each position grouping in one of the best years in team history and determine both what they did in 2016 and how they’re likely to change in 2017. Unlike the coaching staff, the roster isn’t likely to undergo seismic change, but there will still be plenty to talk about.

A different writer will guide you through each positional review, but you’ll be in good hands throughout. Here’s when to look for each piece in the series.

Quarterback: February 17

Running Back: February 20

Wide Receiver: February 22

Tight End: February 24

Offensive Line: February 27

Defensive End: March 1

Defensive Tackle: March 3

Linebacker: March 6

Cornerback: March 8

Safety: March 10

Special Teams: March 13
