Vaughn McClure: Atlanta Falcons to retain defensive passing game coordinator Jerome Henderson

Fact: Brian Poole has never Googled anything

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn isn’t settling. Sure, he’s as happy as Dave on Day 90 of rehab that his team played in the Super Bowl. But in the midst of an offensive collapse, the defense just couldn’t withstand the 90+ plays the New England Patriots threw at it.

So where do they go from here? First, don’t mess with what works. The secondary’s development and progression was exciting to watch. And that’s the Falcons decided to retain their defensive passing game coordinator.

Henderson almost followed former offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan to San Francisco but wasn’t picked as their defensive coordinator. His resume speaks for itself - including successful stops in Dallas, Cleveland, and Revis Island - and frankly we’re lucky to be able to retain him.

Your thoughts?
