Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn has a special eye for talent. Even as an assistant coach at Hofstra, Quinn had an uncanny knack for finding and honing diamonds in the rough. So as Quinn sought to replace some of the defensive coaches, we knew he’d make the right choices.
Apparently Quinn has added another defensive coach. This time it’s a name you rabid Georgia State fans are potentially familiar with: Jess Simpson.

Simpson, like Quinn, has an impeccable bald head. He’s also navigated a unique trajectory on his way to a NFL coaching gig. Just three months ago, Simpson was head coach at Buford High School. If you don’t follow high school football closely, then you may not be familiar with Buford, but it’s an absolute powerhouse. Quinn also recruited a couple former Buford players during his tenure at the University of Florida. Simpson left Buford in December and briefly coached at Georgia State.
